I’ve been wanting to get into a holiday market since Blue Crescent was published. But I was having a hard time. Some are expensive, some are not meant for authors, some, like the craft market require a long commitment for their season. I really can’t see trying to sell books weekend after weekend when I don’t have that many. I can’t come up with new ones every weekend so what would be the point?
But finally I found one and I was able to get in. It’s the F.Q.Story Home and Garden Tour and Holiday Market. They’ve been doing the tour for quite a few years and at the beginning of it, they have their holiday market. I was able to get in and get my choice of location. So that was nice. I’m hoping that this tour will attract people who can appreciate the creativity of artists…writers, food specialists, crafters. I’m assuming…very bad—never assume…that perhaps interior decorators, realtors, architects might stop by. And being creative people themselves, they might be looking for gifts that aren’t found in local chain stores.
I haven’t heard back from Readers of the Valley about Whiskey and Words in the spring of 2027, but since she still has openings, I sent in another application. It doesn’t cost to apply. Who knows? Maybe she’ll need one more. Her website is a little confusing. It says apps opening soon and then on another page I see the apps are there. There are more I’d like to apply to so I’ll keep my eyes open to see if there are more applications available.
I’m really excited about the Scottsdale Book Festival in January. Their website had me on the page as a featured author. Can you imagine? Little ole me.
I need to get back to Shadow Canyon. I asked my beta reader if she’d read it for me just for continuity. I had to go back and add the romance part because I kind of lost track of my story. I’ll read it too, but sometimes fresh eyes are so helpful. And she’s really great.
And I’m still writing Legacy.
Take care.
